Finally! I've started our blog (sorry for the delay)

Welcome to our blog!  Yes, I have been telling people I was going to start this ages ago but I have only just finally gotten to it now.  I know many of you said "don't bother with a blog, just use Facebook" but too many people that I want to stay in touch with don't use FB so here we are.

With so many friends and family on the other side of the world and time zones difficult for talking and texting, we thought this would be a good way to keep in touch and let everyone know what we're up to here in Sydney.  As this was Hannah's idea (sparked by a desire to keep a journal while we are here) I imagine she'll be doing most of the posting but we'll all try to contribute something along the way.

Since I'm way behind, this first post will be longer to try to catch everyone up.  We left Boston early in the morning on Oct 15th.  Hannah was eager to start her blog right away.

We managed to pack our whole lives into 10 duffle bags and a few carry-ons.  It was very freeing (and frightening!) to leave every other possesion behind in Boston.

The plane ride was long, but a short stop-over to visit Grandpa in Vancouver and lots of snacks and videos on the plane certainly helped.

Although there were a ton of admistrative things to take care of for the first couple of weeks, we tried to fit in a few fun things as well.  Here we are waiting for the ferry into the city, and watching a didgeridoo player at Circular Quay.
