Abbey is loving her new bike, especially the baby seat for her many babies (most of them, including this one, are named Mae after her best friend from preschool back in Arlington.
Despite the beach and other amazing things Sydney has to offer, the kids still prefer a good playground to almost any other activity. Don't they understand they have the rest of their lives to play on playground equipment back in the States!? Ugh.
Exercising at lunch (instead of eating fattening take-out food at your desk while you read email which is more American style) is a part of the culture that I have taken quite fondly too. Not only is it pretty easy to stay in shape when doing so means also getting a welcome break from work in the middle of the day, but the scenery doesn't hurt either. This is my regular lunchtime jogging route along the water (that is when I take a pass on being tortured by my colleagues in a group bootcamp session).
A lot of people swim at lunch and again, I can see why when the venue looks like this (yes, that is a pool hanging out over the ocean). I haven't braved the pool yet myself though, as the thought of doing my dry-hair-breaststroke old lady style in front of my fishlike colleagues does not appeal. I like running past it though :)
Even on what Sydneysiders would consider to be a crap weather day like today (meaning, something a little less perfect than 75 and sunny), the regular workout spots in the city were filled with people working out at 12:30pm. Yes, I have run those stairs under the careful scrutiny of my boss/trainer and yes, they are torture.
Some days though of course, we still like to just lounge around in our bathing suits doing nothing but looking beautiful.
I'm so happy you are able to exercise everyday. We're not going to be able to keep up with you when we all run together again.
ReplyDeleteThe girls are so beautiful and getting getting bigger by the minute. I can't believe how much they've changed in 2 months! Cute suits by the way.
Happy Birthday to Hannah and Abbey! Calvin and Naomi miss you both very much. They have you in their hearts and minds while we all celebrate this crazy birthday/holiday season. We hope you enjoy your birthdays and Xmas with the great weather. It's raining and 40 here in case you were curious. :)
